The Affordable Learning movement seeks to make higher education more accessible to students by promoting the use of high-quality, free and low-cost learning materials. PASCAL has allocated $75,000 for an Affordable Learning initiative to expand programs in South Carolina through training and professional development opportunities, assessment of existing programs and promotion of best practices.
PASCAL recently launched an Affordable Learning Task Force to provide frameworks that would make educational content more affordable for students at PASCAL member schools. The Affordable Learning Task Force will assess current affordable learning programs in South Carolina and expand awareness of affordable learning principles, practices and opportunities through training and professional development. It will investigate modalities for expanding affordable learning initiatives in the state through pilot and/or demonstration projects it identifies as promising.
