SCALE - What Is Affordable Learning?

Library Resources

Library Resources licensed by your institution can be provided free-of-charge to students in place of costly textbooks. Click here to see what resources are available through PASCAL and talk to your librarian to find out what is available at your institution's library.

Check to see if your library will place course material on reserve so that it is available for your students at the library or through your Learning Management System (Blackboard, Moodle, etc.). These materials could be print or electronic.

Streaming Video

Some libraries provide access to streaming video content including both documentaries and feature films. These films can be linked to through your Learning Management System and provide students with another way of learning.

Search the PASCAL e-book collections to find books that can be used in place of textbooks.  Also, check with your local library to find out if they provide access to other e-book collections.

Online Journals

Numerous articles can be found in your library’s online journals and databases.  Linking to these articles through your schools Learning Management System provides your students with easy and free access to the material.
