Beginning this Fall, PASCAL will launch biannual Regional Library Exchanges, designed to bring together members of the consortium within their geographic areas to foster collaboration, professional development, and knowledge sharing. These gatherings will take place each spring and fall, hosted by member libraries across the state, allowing host sites to showcase their spaces and services. The Regional Library Exchanges will provide ongoing opportunities for library professionals to exchange ideas, share best practices, and build lasting partnerships, fostering a stronger, more connected academic library community.
The inaugural event will be hosted by the USC Upstate Library on Thursday, October 9th. Attendees will participate in hands-on training sessions, engage in “birds of a feather” discussions with colleagues in similar roles, and explore opportunities to strengthen connections with neighboring institutions.
Looking ahead, The Citadel’s Daniel Library will host the spring exchange on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Additional details about the 2025–26 Regional Library Exchanges are available on the PASCAL website (member password required).
Through the Regional Library Exchanges and our annual Member Conference, PASCAL is committed to providing opportunities for members from all institutions to engage in meaningful conversations, participate in professional development, and build partnerships that extend beyond their own campuses.
Registration will be limited to three attendees per institution to ensure broad participation. Events will rotate around the state each year. If your library is interested in hosting a future Regional Library Exchange, please contact Ellan Jenkinson.
