Call for Proposals for the 2024 PASCAL Member Conference

The PASCAL Conference Programming Committee is accepting proposals from the PASCAL community for the upcoming PASCAL Member Conference which will be held June 6-7, 2024 in Columbia, SC. The theme for the 2024 conference is “Building Community: Better Together”.

This two-day event will bring together library professionals from across the PASCAL community, providing opportunities for knowledge-sharing, networking, and professional development.  Day 1 will include hybrid programming held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center with sessions held in person and via Zoom. Day 2 will include in-person programming held at the Pastides Alumni Center at the University of South Carolina. Registration will open on March 1, 2024.

The PASCAL Conference Programming Committee invites you to contribute to the success of this event by submitting a presentation proposal. Proposals will be accepted through March 8, 2024.

Suggested Topics:

• Innovative Library Services and Programs
• Library Technology (Innovations and quick tips for shared technologies such as Alma, Primo VE, OpenAthens, etc.)
• Best practices in Collection Development and Management
• User Engagement and Outreach
• Professional Development and Leadership
• Affordable Learning
• Wellness in the workplace
• Information Literacy & Instruction
• Local, Statewide, and National Trends (e.g. AI/Generative AI, Chatbots)

Accepted format types:

• Interactive Workshops (60 minutes)
• Presentations - Individual or Multiple Presenters (45 Minutes – 35-minute presentation with 10 minutes for questions and discussion)
• Panel Discussions (45 minutes- 35 minutes for presentation(s) with 10 minutes for open questions and discussion)
• Lightning Talk (15 Minutes - 10-minute presentation with 5 minutes for questions and discussion)

To submit a proposal, please complete the online submission form by March 8, 2024.

Note: All conference presentations will be given in person.

The PASCAL Conference Programming Committee will notify selected presenters by March 22, 2024. Presenters are asked to accept or decline to present by April 5, 2024.
