We are excited to announce a new professional development opportunity for members: the ONEAL Project Course, a 12-week series designed to help academic librarians sharpen their vendor negotiation skills. PASCAL’s Consortial Purchasing Committee has tailored the Open Negotiation Education for Academic Libraries (ONEAL) project curriculum for PASCAL members who are responsible for licensing content and want to approach vendor negotiations with greater knowledge and confidence.
Two cohorts are being offered, but space is limited. The Tuesday cohort is already full, but a few seats remain for the Thursday cohort. For more information or to register, please use the links below:
The ONEAL Project offers curricula and open educational resources created specifically to support negotiation education for academic libraries and MLS/MLIS programs. Developed with funding from an IMLS grant through a collaboration between Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis, Grand Valley State University, and Belmont University, the ONEAL Project provides practical tools and strategies grounded in the library context.
The course will follow a flipped classroom model: participants will complete readings and exercises ahead of time, allowing live sessions to focus on active discussion and peer learning. Participants will also use Basecamp to share questions and engage in conversations between meetings. A certificate of completion will be available to those who complete all 12 weeks, either via the designated meeting times or through the Basecamp.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with colleagues, build new skills, and enhance your effectiveness at the negotiation table.
