PASCAL Board of Directors Welcomes New and Returning Members

PASCAL recently held elections from May 20 to May 31, 2024, to fill four seats on the Board of Directors. As the key governing and policy-making body, the Board oversees PASCAL programs, finances, and staff. The election resulted in the addition of two new members and the re-election of two current members for a second term.

The newly elected and returning board members are:

• Reid Austin, Director of Wessels Library, Newberry College- Independent Institutions, 2024 – 2027
• Melanie Croft, Director of Library Services, Anderson University- Independent Institutions, 2024 – 2026*
• Carrie Johnston, Library Director, York Technical College- Public Institution, At-Large, 2024 – 2027
• Shannon D. Jones, Director of Libraries, Medical University of South Carolina- Public Institution, Special Library, 2024 – 2027

* Fills the remainder of a term originally held by John Kennerly, Erskine College (LDC) (2026) who resigned in January 2023. 

The election process was overseen by the Board’s Nominating and Elections Committee, comprising Richard Moniz, Chair, (Horry-Georgetown Technical College), John Barnett (University of South Carolina Upstate), and Jeff Perez (South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities). Results of the election were verified by Mr. Perez, the Ex Officio member.  

Congratulations to the new and returning board members. We extend our gratitude to all the candidates for their willingness to serve and to everyone who participated in the election.
