Shared LSP Steering Committee Announced

   Elections for the Shared LSP Steering Committee were held the week of November 6-10. The committee is made up of representatives from each type of institution within PASCAL. These include: research, four year public, four year independents, two year public and independent colleges, and special libraries. We had a very strong slate of candidates and would like to extend our thanks to all who were nominated.

   The following candidates were elected to serve on the SLSP Steering Committee:

Four Year Independent Institutions

• Kevin Reynolds, Dean of the Library, Wofford College

Four Year Public Institutions

• James Williams III, Associate Dean of Public Services, College of Charleston

Research Institutions

• Glenn Bunton, Director of Library Technology Services, University of South Carolina -Columbia

Special Libraries

• Jean Gudenas, Director of Information Resources and Collection Services, Medical University of South Carolina

Two Year Public and Independent Institutions

• Sasha Bishop, Director for Learning Resources, Technical College of the Lowcountry

    In addition to the elected representatives listed above, the committee will have two ex-officio members: a representative from the PASCAL Board and the Shared LSP Coordinator.  Shannon Brooks, Chair of the Board of Directors, will serve as the board representative and Ellan Jenkinson, PASCAL Member Engagement & Training Librarian, will serve until the Shared LSP Coordinator has been hired.

   The SLSP Steering Committee is a standing committee that will provide oversight for the Shared Library Services Platform (SLSP) and facilitate alignment to PASCAL’s strategic agenda. The committee will resolve conflicts and vet high-level recommendations from the Implementation and Management Team and Working Groups. One of the group’s important initial tasks will be to appoint the Chairs of the Shared LSP Working Groups for various functional areas.
