PASCAL is pleased to announce the implementation of ConsortiaManager, a cutting-edge software solution designed to streamline and optimize the workflow associated with consortial electronic resource (e-resource) subscriptions. Beginning April 29th, PASCAL's fifty-five member institutions will begin utilizing this innovative platform for their consortial agreements.
PASCAL provides access to core e-resources for member libraries and negotiates opt-in deals with over a dozen academic vendors, offering discounted pricing. By leveraging PASCAL's expertise, member libraries gain access to a wider range of academic content for their students and faculty. Previously, managing these e-resource agreements involved time-consuming manual processes such as emails, phone calls, and spreadsheets. ConsortiaManager eliminates this workload, allowing PASCAL staff to dedicate more time and resources to supporting member needs.
Through the user-friendly ConsortiaManager interface, member libraries can seamlessly process renewals, update institutional information, and access a comprehensive range of functionalities, including:
Amy Trepal, PASCAL Shared Licensing and Content Librarian, expressed excitement about the introduction of ConsortiaManager, stating, "We are thrilled to introduce this new platform to our members. ConsortiaManager will not only save staff time but also greatly simplify the renewal process for our members, marking an exciting milestone in our ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration and resource management among member institutions."
ConsortiaManager fosters seamless communication between member institutions and PASCAL staff, ensuring timely updates and notifications. PASCAL is committed to supporting its members during this transition. To support members in their adoption of ConsortiaManager, PASCAL staff have prepared initial "how-to" documentation, available on the PASCAL Member site (password required). Additionally, PASCAL will host weekly "office hours" sessions, starting May 8th at 10:00 AM and continuing through June 26th. These sessions will provide members with an opportunity to ask questions and receive assistance with the new platform in an informal setting.
