PASCAL Governance and Committees Overview

Zoom is a web and video conferencing tool that can be used for meetings and webinars with up to 100 participants. PASCAL uses Zoom for most committee and team meetings, so that members can meet face to face without having to travel.

 Zoom Features:

  • Easy to use, low cost solution
  • Participants don’t have to create an account
  • Participants can meet “face to face” for meetings without having to travel
  • Any participant can share their screen
  • Breakout Rooms for meetings & webinars
  • Remote support options for technical ILS issues
  • Mobile friendly (Android & IOS apps available)

Joining a Meeting is Easy!

You can join a Zoom meeting by clicking on the meeting URL in your e-mail or calendar invitation. 

You will be prompted to download the Zoom application (only needed once per device). If you are joining Zoom on your mobile device, you may be prompted to download an application. You don't need an account to participate in a Zoom meeting or webinar.

 

Once you join the meeting, select your audio option:

Connect via computer audio

 

Or use the phone option to call in. Be sure to enter the Participant ID provided when using phone audio.

Participants Controls for Meeting Attendees

Tap Participants in the meeting controls to access these features:

  • Tap your name in the participants list, then tap Raise Hand to indicate that you need something from the meeting host. You will see a hand icon beside your name in the participants list.
  • Show/Hide Non-video Participants: Show or hide participant's name or profile picture on the Zoom Room's display if their video is turned off.
  • Show/Hide self view: Show or hide your video feed on the Zoom Room's display. If video is turned off, this will show or hide your name or profile picture.
