Preconference: Emergency Preparedness and Response Workshop

Tuesday, June 10 | 9:00am to 3:30pm
Learning Commons at Edens Library, Columbia College

As a precursor to the 2025 PASCAL Conference, the PASCAL Collaborative Collections Committee is hosting a pre-conference workshop centered on Emergency Preparedness and Response. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from experts and peers and to directly apply new knowledge to their own library.

Call for Lightning Talk Proposals

The PASCAL Collaborative Collections Committee invites members to contribute to the success of the workshop by submitting presentation proposals.  Presentations will be in lightning talk format (15 Minutes - 10-minute presentation with 5 minutes for questions and discussion).

Suggested topics include but are not limited to:

  • Lessons learned
  • Best practices
  • Prevention plans
  • Recovery and preservation
  • Training library employees and student workers
  • Communication with stakeholders  

To submit a proposal, please complete the online submission form by Friday, February 28th, 2025.

The PASCAL Collaborative Collections Committee, in cooperation with the PASCAL Conference Programming Committee, will notify selected presenters by Friday, March 21st, 2025. Presenters are asked to accept or decline to present by Friday, April 11th 2025.

Have an idea for a longer presentation on Emergency Preparedness & Response?  Stay tuned – we’ll be seeking presenters for a speaker series in the fall!
